You remember how a couple of weeks ago I said that I was going on vacation and hoped to have a chance to catch up on my reading? Well, we finally got back home last night, and I can sum up my lovely holiday on the Cote d’Azur in the following way:
Reading
Reading
Spending Time with the Family
Reading
Drinking Rosé
Reading.
It was perfect. I managed to finish nine books, and I started another one that I’m about halfway through. I didn’t ignore my family quite as much as that may sound–we did some kind of outing or activity every day, as well as going to the beach or the pool in the afternoons–but it’s amazing how much free time you have when you don’t have to do the 9-5 thing.
Not only did I read a lot, but I read some really good stuff: three five-star books, including one that’s a first book which I’ll be reviewing later this week, so be on the lookout for that. I also finished two books for Paris in July, two good beach reads, and completed a trilogy that was very meh (I guess they can’t all be winners). In short, that means lots of reviews coming up.
Hope you’re enjoying your summer, too!
Sounds like a wonderful vacation in a beautiful place!
I’m glad to hear that you had such a lovely vacation! I’m looking forward to your reviews.
I just discovered your blog (through twitter) and am happy to have discovered a fellow bibliophile! I love that you spent so much of your holiday reading… sounds like the perfect vacation 🙂
Oh Beth it sounds like you had a wonderful time and so much reading..heaven!!
Oh my word does that sound like perfection! Wonderful 😀 Welcome home!
That vacation sounds HEAVENLY!! Can’t wait to read your reviews 🙂
I can’t wait to get the scoop on what you read!
This sounds like my kind of vacation! Unfortunately Scott nor Elle would agree. Go go go go! I did get some alone time this past trip when they were off trekking the mountains (being pregnant makes way for all sorts of excuses) but often I just fell asleep while reading.
Glad you enjoyed the trip!! I bet Cote d’Azur is gorgeous.
