Happy Monday, all–hope everyone had a nice weekend. Here the weather was beautiful and we stayed around home due to some health concerns in the family. Despite the stress of this, it was (mostly) a quiet weekend.

Loving: My new yoga studio. I was worried about being able to find a teacher that I liked as much as my old one in France, but I got lucky on the first try.  I’ve been practicing again for a few weeks now and I feel good and STRONG.

Thinking about: My husband’s health issues. Hoping I can be as supportive as I need to be and in the right way.

Anticipating: Celebrating our first Halloween with the girls in the U.S. I’m so excited about taking them trick or treating. We tried to do this for several years in France, but people don’t really celebrate it there so it’s always kind of a dud. I can’t wait for the girls to experience the real deal. 🙂

Watching: ‘Haven’–an X-Files-y show that I found on Netflix and am really loving. Audrey Parker has the best clothes.

Listening to: Whatever’s on the ‘Passenger’ channel on Pandora. I haven’t strayed much from this kind of music lately.

Eating: Lots of superfoods. I think we had quinoa and kale at least twice this week, but my family members are being good sports about it. Pears, sweet potatoes, broccoli–I’m craving healthy at the moment. I have to take advantage of it while it lasts.

Wishing: That I could be accepting of where I am right now without feeling like I need to be doing more. I have a hard time slowing down, and it has been two months now since I left behind my job in France. Granted, there has been plenty to do with the move and my days are pretty full just running our household, but it’s hard for me not to be working. I need to trust that the right thing will come along at the right time, and that I should make the most of the present and the chance it gives me to really focus on home and family.  I’m working on it.

What are you up to today?

I’m hoping I’ve bought enough candy! I don’t want to have too many leftovers either, though, as then we’ll be the ones who end up eating it. 🙂

I remember the two autumn’s I spent in France–it was hard to be excited about my favorite time of the year when no one there celebrates any autumn holidays. There was a large American community in my town though, and I do remember seeing a few trick or treaters out on Halloween 🙂

EWWWWW quinoa and kale! (To be fair I do like them, just not twice a week!) And I agree it’ll be great for them to experience Halloween in the US. I’m always sad we don’t get any trick-or-treaters at my house. I buy candy anyway, I just make sure it’s the kind I want when it’s done.

Ha–sure you don’t want to come to my house for dinner sometime? 😉 Sorry to hear that you don’t get any trick or treaters at your place. I have no idea how many we can expect but have bought two big bags of candy just in case.

Thanks, Ti. It’s frustrating because we’re not really sure why he’s having the symptoms he is, but he’s being followed by a specialist so hopefully we’ll figure it out soon.

Trick or Treating!! Hope that your girls have a blast. And sending good thoughts to your family and especially your husband.

slowing down. It’s really tough for me to be at home. Even though it’s been over a year since I quit my job, I’ve never been able to consider myself a stay at home mom. I’ve really enjoyed going to the office a few times a week, even if there isn’t enough work yet to keep me totally busy, but I understand feeling a bit restless. I hope you find something you truly love! Maybe a yogi? 🙂
